Nominations Open for the 2026 Glasgow Community Champion Awards

Nominations Open for the 2026 Glasgow Community Champion Awards

Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust is proud to once again sponsor the Glasgow Community Champion Awards, celebrating the remarkable people, groups and organisations that make a positive difference in communities across Glasgow.

Organised by the Glasgow Times and supported by Glasgow City Council, Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust and Glasgow Fort, the awards recognise the city’s unsung heroes; those who dedicate their time, energy and passion to helping others and strengthening their communities.

The awards are once again inviting nominations from across Glasgow. Whether it is a volunteer who always goes the extra mile, a community group transforming local lives, an inspiring young person making a difference, or a team supporting those in need, the awards provide an opportunity to celebrate people whose contributions often go unrecognised.

This year’s categories include Community Champion, Champion Team, Sporting Champion, Green Champion, Health and Wellbeing Champion, Arts Champion, Young Champion, Little Champion and Senior Champion. A special new GT150 Anniversary Prize has also been introduced to mark the Glasgow Times’ 150th anniversary, recognising long-standing commitment to volunteering, community action and social change.

Gerry Facenna, owner of Allied Vehicles, said:

“Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust is once again delighted to sponsor the Glasgow Times Community Champion Awards.

The nominations showcase the remarkable charitable and community work taking place across Glasgow and the extraordinary people who dedicate their time and energy to supporting others. The awards ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate those who make such a positive difference in our communities.

Through our own charitable trust, we see first-hand the impact that acts of kindness, generosity and volunteering can have, and we’re proud to help shine a spotlight on even more inspiring individuals and organisations.”

At Allied Vehicles, we have long believed in giving back to the communities we serve. Through the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust, we are proud to support a wide range of organisations, charities and community initiatives that improve lives across Glasgow and beyond.

The Community Champion Awards perfectly reflect the values of kindness, generosity and community spirit that make our city such a special place. Every year, the nominations reveal inspiring stories of people who quietly work behind the scenes to support others, often without seeking recognition for their efforts.

We would encourage anyone who knows an individual, team, charity or community group making a difference to submit a nomination. By sharing their story, you can help ensure they receive the recognition they deserve and inspire others through their example.

Nominations for the 2026 Glasgow Community Champion Awards are open until 21st September.
