Every other wheelchair accessible vehicle sold in May was made by Allied Mobility.
Allied’s dedicated mobility vehicles division sold more than half of all wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs) supplied through the Motability Scheme across the UK over the past month.
Allied Mobility converts a variety of models in conjunction with automotive partners such as Ford, Peugeot, Fiat and Volkswagen. During May it sold 350 wheelchair accessible vehicles via the Motability Scheme, a 55% increase on the same period in 2015. In total, 692 wheelchair accessible vehicles were registered in the UK via Motability in May, meaning that Allied Mobility provided 51% of all wheelchair accessible vehicles sold during the month.
Sales director Peter Facenna commented: “This is the first time in many years that one company has sold more than half of the wheelchair accessible vehicles on the Motability Scheme in any one month, which confirms our position as the top producer and supplier of WAVs in the UK.
“It’s very encouraging to know that our accessible cars and people carriers are helping improve mobility for so many wheelchair and scooter users across the UK.”
