Christmas cheer is in full swing in north Glasgow thanks to the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust and its tradition of giving back to the community by funding a variety of local events, gift drives and Christmas celebrations.
Earlier in 2025, the Trust made a £1,950 donation towards Cerebral Palsy Scotland’s annual programme of events, which included a Christmas lunch for adults and a party for children and families.
The Trust also pledged £10,000 towards Possilpark Christmas celebrations, which helped provide the lights and tree on Saracen Street as well as various events around the local area.
A further £7,000 of donations were made to Benview Nursery, Sunshine Wishes Children’s Charity and BOOM! Community Arts to spread some festive joy.
This funding has helped pay for Christmas presents for children and vouchers for families. The donation to BOOM! Community Arts went towards the Santa Saunter event, where Santa travels on his horse and cart through Possilpark and Ruchill, supported by a team of elves.
Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas once again had Allied Vehicles’ support Nearly 700 gifts were donated to the Possilpark Social Work team through the annual toy drive with over 100 of those given by Allied employees. To help make sure no child is forgotten this Christmas, the Spirit of Christmas organisation was also gifted the loan of a van by Allied to help with gift collection and deliveries.
The festive giving didn’t stop there. The Charitable Trust donated £1,550 to Alive and Kicking for a Christmas celebration and gifts for 70 older adults facing isolation and hardship, and £2,500 to Comfort Zone for a Christmas event with food, rides and gifts for 250 children in Possilpark.
They followed this with £700 to Right There for a Christmas meal and gifts for 50 homeless young people, and £2,000 to The GK Experience to fund their Christmas programme, Santa packs, and supermarket vouchers for families.
Adding up the donations, the cost of the gifted toys and the value of the loaned van for Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas, exceeds £35,000, helping to make Christmas magical for people in the north of Glasgow.
