After a triumphant summer Olympics in which Great Britain achieved an astonishing 65 medals, there was an unsung hero that could have won a medal for Team GB for sheer hard work – Allied’s E7™ taxi.
The E7 hackney cab was used by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to provide transport for a host of international business delegates, politicians and Olympic officials.
E7 Taxi on Show
During the Games a series of business summits was hosted by The British Business Embassy, which showcased the best of British business to the world. And what better vehicle to transport delegates than the superb E7™ taxi.
Allied provided a fleet of E7™ taxis which was kept hard at work around London’s busy streets. Not only were the delegates talking inside the vehicles, there was also plenty of head-turning as London cabbies noticed the stylish back cabs on the capital’s roads.
Despite the E7 being part-built in Britain and the UK’s most popular full-specification hackney cab outside London, London cab drivers are barred from chosing an E7 due to anti-competitive red tape dating back to the earliest days of motorised transport.
