Allied Vehicles has reaffirmed its long‑standing commitment to Glasgow’s communities by supporting the Inspiring City Awards, which return in 2026 to recognise individuals, organisations and initiatives making a positive impact across the city.
The Inspiring City Awards highlight the work being carried out across the city to strengthen communities, support economic growth and enhance quality of life. They celebrate achievements across eight categories, each reflecting a key aspect of Glasgow’s social, cultural and economic fabric.
As a business founded in north Glasgow, Allied Vehicles has a long track record of investing in the communities it serves, and as such has chosen to support the Community Impact Award. This award recognises initiatives that have delivered clear and impactful improvements to quality of life, social inclusion and community spirit across Glasgow, acknowledging individuals and organisations working on the front line to address social challenges, reduce inequality and create lasting positive change.
As well as community impact, the awards also recognise excellence across a broad range of sectors. Awards will be made to individuals and organisations who have made a difference to arts & culture, the environment, heritage, economic impact, and youth empowerment.
With the Commonwealth Games returning to the city, sporting achievement and inclusion are expected to be key themes, and the Sport Award will recognise an individual or organisation that has fostered sporting participation and achievement across the city’s communities.

Ian McConnell, business editor of The Herald, said of the awards:
“We are once again delighted to join forces with Glasgow Chamber of Commerce for these prestigious awards, which celebrate inspiring achievements across the life of the city, including business and the economy, the environment, community impact and inclusion, art and culture, heritage, sport, and youth empowerment. Over the years, these awards have championed uplifting and extraordinary achievements by organisations and individuals who epitomise the great spirit of Glasgow. We look forward to celebrating many more inspiring stories in the 2026 awards.”
Gerry Facenna, Founder and Chairman of Allied Vehicles, added:
“As a proud north Glasgow business, Allied Vehicles is delighted to be a sponsor of the Inspiring City Awards. The Community Impact Award is close to our hearts as our Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust donates £20,000 every month to our local and wider communities. We’re excited to read the amazing entries from people making a true impact on their communities!”
The Inspiring City Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the breadth of talent, commitment and innovation across the city at a time when Glasgow is preparing to welcome visitors from around the world.
For Allied Vehicles, supporting the awards is part of a wider, ongoing commitment to the city and the communities that have played such a key role in the company’s success.
