Our Commitment to Digital Accessibility

Accessibility is a core part of our ESG strategy and our commitment to inclusion. We are actively working toward full compliance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which sets common accessibility standards for digital services across the EU.

What is the EAA and Why It Matters?

The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) sets common accessibility standards for websites, apps, and digital services across the EU. Its goal is to remove barriers for over 80 million people with disabilities, creating a more inclusive digital environment.

Although the UK is not legally bound by the EAA following Brexit, UK businesses offering services to EU customers must comply. In the UK, similar obligations exist under the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Our Journey So Far

  • Accessibility Audit Completed: We have reviewed all EU-targeted websites to identify barriers and prioritize fixes.
  • WCAG 2.1 AA Implementation: Key improvements have been made to navigation, forms, and multimedia content.
  • Alt Text and Semantic Structure: Product images and page layouts now include proper alt text and headings for screen readers.
  • Vendor Engagement: We have partnered with accessibility specialists to guide ongoing improvements.
  • User Testing: Initial testing with assistive technologies has begun to validate changes.

Our Ongoing Commitment

We will continue to enhance accessibility across all digital touchpoints, ensuring our websites are inclusive and easy to use for everyone. This is not just compliance, it’s part of our responsibility to create a better, more equitable digital experience.
