Allied staff have raised £2809.08 to help a young Glasgow child undergoing treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma, which is a rare childhood cancer.
The money raised is for #TeamAmelia. Amelia is a four-year-old girl from Glasgow whose family are raising money to cover the logistical costs involved in travelling for her treatments in Manchester. The treatment itself is funded by the NHS, but the family need to hire a large car due to the size of Amelia’s pram. They also need to hire an adapted apartment, which requires expert cleaners as the environment needs to be sterile, and specialist nurses to support the family too. Any money that is left over will go to support another family.
